A.C.T. Ministry

(Activities Christians Teach)

MISSION

The purpose of the A.C.T.  (Activities Christians Teach) Ministry is to provide continuing education opportunities to  prospective and current members of Gospel Temple Missionary Baptist Church.  The objective is to implement a continuing  education ministry consisting of volunteer Christian workers who will teach, tutor, and mentor at Gospel Temple. This ministry will engage youth and young adults (ages 4 to 40) in activities and programs that focus on Christian principles, academic enrichment, financial literacy, and career pathways

GOALS

  1.  To nurture, utilize, train and retain Christians through New Members Classes, Sunday School, Bible Study, A.C.T. Ministry and Worship Services.
  2. To enact a Home Extension component with proper approval. Presentations to the congregation can be made quarterly or on 5th Sundays. A.C.T. Ministry meetings with the youth and young adults can occur weekly, monthly, or once during a semester.
  3. To motivate, encourage, and enlighten youth and young adults to have continuous positive interactions with each other and everyone they meet.
  4. To respond to our youth and young adults at their points of need. Financial literacy and  budgets will be discussed.
  5. To allow parents and Board of Christian Education members to review the ministry; to permit the volunteer workers to rotate in and out of positions. To conduct a needs assessment that allows for the review and revision of practices in order to meet present and future goals. To carefully consider suggestions and recommendations.
  6. To encourage the participation of visitors in order to grow and sustain a worthwhile ministry.
